You will see "research use only" stamped on every page of a peptide supplier's site. It is not boilerplate — it defines the legal and ethical framework that lets these materials change hands at all.
The regulatory frame
Compounds sold for research use are not FDA-approved drugs. They have not gone through human clinical trials for the indications customers occasionally imagine. They are sold to qualified researchers for in vitro and laboratory work — analyses, assays, cell-culture experiments, mechanism-of-action studies — not for administration to humans or animals.
What we ask of buyers
- Work in an appropriate laboratory or institutional setting.
- Do not relabel or repackage products for clinical use.
- Comply with local and federal regulations governing handling, storage, and disposal.
- Treat data and observations as research output, not clinical evidence.
